Our focus on operationalized AI streamlines information and data intensive workflows to improve employee productivity, increase customer satisfaction, and mitigate risk.  We enable F500 customers in Financial Services, High-Tech, Life Sciences, and Government to improve employee and investigator throughput by >80%, decrease resolution time by 85%+, and increase upsells by >40%.

Founded in 2007, I was recruited in 2014 to scale commercial operations and align our technology roadmap with key trends including Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, and Cloud deployments.  

Key accomplishments and responsibilities:

•	Transformed business model resulting in 50% cost reduction, 3X revenue growth, 75% recurring revenue, 90%+ customer retention, and 105% - 130% DRR
•	Simplified solutions, messaging, and sales processes resulting market leadership and significant customer relationships with Bank of America, Cisco, Coca-Cola, FAA, Goldman Sachs, Government of Israel, General Electric, MetLife, Nationwide, NetApp, and others
•	Established omnichannel sales model and methodology resulting in revenue contribution through direct, OEM (EMC, NICE, PerkinElmer, Verint), and partner channels (Accenture, Cloudera, TCS)
•	Defined product roadmap direction and repositioned Attivio with Forrester and Gartner earning leadership positions in Text Analytics, Cognitive Search & Knowledge Discovery, and Insight Engine vendor reports.

In 2019, we launched Elevate, a deep integration with the ServiceNow platform to bring AI-Powered Answers & Insights to their customer base.  This deep collaboration and partnership led to ServiceNow acquiring Attivio in October 2019.

RAMP (formerly EveryZing) was an advanced Content Optimization SaaS platform providing publishers’ workflow, discovery and engagement solutions to drive monetization of online content to users’ search and browsing behavior. Spun out of Raytheon with speech recognition and text analytics IP, our MediaCloud platform offered publishers an open, flexible and modular capability to optimize large amounts of content, including text, audio, video and images, within dynamic publishing environments. As a result, publishers’ increase the monetization potential of their content while offering customers a more engaging and relevant experience.  
 
I had responsibility for our field activities and, within three years of launching, counted Comcast NBC, ABC, Meredith, Time Inc, Entercom Radio, CBS Radio, FOX News, FOX Sports and others as customers.  

Key accomplishments and responsibilities: 

•	Managed commercial operations and optimized key SaaS metrics achieving 60% annual revenue growth; 90%+ customer renewal rates; 110%+ DRR; $40MM+ in bookings; 2.5X LTV/CAC. 
•	Managed team of 35 employees with responsibility for Sales, Marketing, Client Operations, Professional & Managed Services, and Support.  Recruited key team members from Microsoft, Oracle, Jive, HP/Autonomy, LogMeIn, Adobe, EMC, and VMWare
•	Raised $28MM of venture capital over two fundraising rounds from Fairhaven, StarVest, Comcast Ventures, Accel, General Catalyst, Hearst Ventures, and EDBI (Singapore)
•	Collaborated with CEO on all aspects of business planning, budgeting, corporate development, and strategic planning

Reed Business Information (RBI), part of RELX, is a leading provider of business information, data, and analytics solutions to professionals in the world’s biggest industries.  

At RBI, I managed a $10M P/L and led a team of product managers, subject matter experts, and developers with responsibility for setting digital strategy and implementing online business models.    Key accomplishments and responsibilities included:

•	Developed and implemented technology platforms for improving findability and recommendations of content across 1000+ RBI and affiliate sites resulting in 70% increase in overall user sessions 
•	Established advertising relationships with Google and Yahoo! resulting in 3.5X increase in sponsored advertising revenue 
•	Managed and developed business relationships with leading online media sites and software vendors, including Google, FAST,Teragram, Infosys, Business.com, and Allbusiness.com leading to rapid deployment of new products and revenue streams

I re-joined FAST in 2004 as VP/GM with responsibility for our eBusiness solutions.  In this role, I led a team to develop and market solutions that improve the user experience and monetization potential of public-facing websites.  These solutions accounted for >80% of  revenue and led to Microsoft’s $1.2B acquisition of FAST.  FAST has become the embedded search and graphing capability with in the Office 365 suite.  

Key accomplishments and responsibilities:

•	Devised go-to-market strategy for vertical industries, including eCommerce, Retail, Media & Entertainment, Mobile, Telecommunications and Publishing. Coordinated Product and Services, Sales, and Marketing activities resulting in profitable revenue growth from $26MM (2003) to $42MM (2004) to $68MM (2005) to $129MM (2006)
•	Managed end-to-end sales and customer lifecycle and served as strategic adviser to key accounts, including AOL, AT&T, BestBuy, Comcast, Career Builder, Deutsche Telekom, New York Times, Sensis (Telstra), Soft Bank, Telefonica, and Verizon
•	Participated in Corporate Development activities, resulting in the acquisition of AltaVista, the establishment of a Yellow Pages-led technology Joint Venture, and several strategic partnerships with leading technology and media companies

FAST was a leader in the Web Search and Enterprise Search space.  I joined FAST as a product manger with responsibility for our MP3, FTP, and multimedia search offerings.  In 1999 we launched AllTheWeb.com which was considered to be the closest rival to Google’s web search. 	

•	Managed FAST’s Internet Business Unit, consisting of 65 employees, and corresponding P&L. Key product lines included Web Search, Advertiser Services, and AlltheWeb.com, a leading search portal. 
•	Grew the business from less than $1MM in revenue to $10MM and break-even cash flow in under 2 years.  
•	Established AlltheWeb.com as a key web search property with over 4MM monthly uniques visitors.  
•	Spearheaded monetization programs with Overture and eSpotting and landed key syndication partnerships with Berlesmann (Lycos Europe), Cablevision, Deutsche Telekom, Infospace, Telecom Italia, and Terra Lycos

In 2004, AlltheWeb.com was acquired by Overture for $100M as the cornerstone of their strategy to more effectively compete with Google.

After an exciting and successful summer internship at Mercer, I joined the firm full-time after completing my MBA at Wharton.  I worked primarily with global financial services firms and focused on strategic planning projects, including:

•	Advised a consortium of banks and credit-card issuers on the future of smart card technology, use cases, and business models which led to several successful global trials of digital wallet technology across the UK and Asia
•	Developed a business an implementation plan for a F500 insurance firm to migrate their underwriting processes to online channels, making them amongst the first to establish a digital presence and P/L.  
•	Devised a bidding strategy for a F500 energy company to acquire several state-owned assets in Latin America that were being privatized

At Mercer I developed data analysis, business planning, and strategic planning skills.  I also learned how to simplify complex concepts and communicate them effectively through management presentations to C-level executives.

The Orchestra of St. Luke’s is New York’s premier freelance orchestra.  Comprised of the best classical musicians in NYC, the outfit has residencies at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Caramoor in addition to supporting leading composers, conductors, and performers in world tours, recordings, and premiers.  As the production manager, I had complete responsibility over logistics for every event – concerts, tours, recordings, educational events, fundraisers/benefits, etc.  This included hiring the musicians, coordinating rehearsal and transportation logistics, negotiating budgets and contractual requirements with concert halls, coordinating guest talent, etc.  I had the honor of managing a North American tour with Andre Previn as well as producing the orchestra’s involvement in two Grammy-nominated recordings with Marcus Roberts and Renee Fleming.  We also were hired as the backing orchestra’s for cross-over tours wit James Taylor and Metallica.  While still an individual contributor, I acquired key skills that have been invaluable throughout my career including project management, budgeting, operations, and negotiations.

How fortunate was I to work at MTV when the music video was still the dominant programming format!?  I had the pleasure of producing VJ segments (Steve Isaacs, Kennedy, etc), the News (Kurt Loder), Headbangers Ball (Riki Rachtman), The Half-Hour Comedy Hour (David Spade), Yo Yo MTV Raps (Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover, Dr Dre), and other programs.  It was my introduction to the media industry and provided exposure to the process of producing content and the economics that drive the industry.  Also met some amazing people and I have a few stories to tell.
