Business Development at Merrill Lynch

Original member of Merrill’s Insurance Sales Desk, which began as start up department in which Merrill transitioned their external insurance specialists from local support to a centralized home office center. Worked with several regional specialists, supporting them and the financial advisors in their territories, developing insurance sales, selling insurance strategies, training on the insurance process and generally increasing awareness of insurance opportunities and the insurance sales process to further sales penetration; including working closely with branch managers to position sales initiatives through one-site meeting, as well as conference calls.  I also worked closely with individual FA’s developing opportunity through book reviews of existing clients, ideas for prospecting as well as direct selling to their clients via conference calls. Ultimately responsible for FA’s in 7 states, including at one time, NYC World Financial headquarters, Member of several committees including the Marketing Advisory Committee to develop Merrill branded sales material, Sales Initiative Committee to assist with the development of targeted tri-annual sales initiatives used across 7 sales desks and the FA Experience Committee developing process to enhance and streamline the FA experience with insurance sales.

Financial Advisor.  Strong focus on women and investing.  Sales through networking and seminars.  Developed "Family Matters" monthly seminar series as a joint venture with a local Barnes and Noble brancy to promote financial sales through community education. I was also a regular speaker at women's buiness events on networking as a form of business development.
