Stephanie Slater

Stephanie Slater is the Founder and Chief Executive of School Food Matters, a charity she established in 2007.24 She founded the organization in response to the poor quality of food served at her children's school.34

Stephanie has a background in film production, having worked in the industry for 20 years before starting School Food Matters.3 Her career includes experience in various roles:

• Film and television production from 1987 to 1999 in Sydney, Australia2
• Events Manager for the Australian Republican Movement in 1998-19992
• Company Director at Woodworks Media from 2005 to 20072

Under Stephanie's leadership, School Food Matters has grown from a grassroots campaign to a respected charity that advocates for better school meals and food education.2 The organization provides fully funded food education programmes to schools and uses this experience to inform and strengthen their campaigns.1

Stephanie has been recognized for her work, receiving awards such as:

She is known for being a tenacious campaigner with an extensive network of schools, parents, and charity partners.2 Stephanie is also Co-Chair of the School Food Plan Alliance and a founder of the School Food Review.3
