Decker is a mother of two children and lives in Indiana. She is the founder of the Stephanie Decker Foundation, which helps children with prosthetic limbs, raising funds for their medical costs.

Decker is a regular speaker at various events and conferences where she shares her story and talks about the importance of inclusion, resilience, and mental toughness. She has also appeared on several national TV shows such as The Ellen Show, Anderson Cooper 360, and CNN Heroes.

Decker has authored a book, "Unshattered," which tells the story of her life, from being a successful businesswoman to living through the tornado and losing both her legs below the knee. The book talks about her journey of finding purpose and emerging stronger through the experience.

Decker's advocacy work includes championing policies and programs that support people with disabilities. She has also served on the board of directors for the Amputee Coalition and the Association for Children’s Prosthetics-Orthotics Clinics.
