Steph McDougal, MTSC, MSHP, PhD

Steph McDougal is a preservation consultant and the Principal Consultant at McDoux Preservation LLC, a specialized preservation consulting firm that provides research-based solutions for city governments, non-profit preservation organizations, and individuals. With a background in sales/marketing and training/education, McDougal has developed training and performance systems for Global 500 companies, small businesses, higher education, and non-profits since 1996. She completed a Master's degree in Historic Preservation in 2008 and refocused her existing consulting practice. McDoux Preservation specializes in long-range planning, community engagement, and program development/evaluation, and provides design guidelines, ordinance development, and strategic planning with an integrated action/reporting component. McDougal also holds a Master's degree in Technical & Scientific Communication with a focus on instructional design. Prior to her career in preservation consulting, McDougal worked for Lion Apparel, The Iams Company, Sinclair Community College/University of Dayton, Ohio, and the Center for Chemical Education/Miami University Middletown (Ohio). She has also served as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati, and as founder, Board of Directors (Past President) and Secretary at Texas Dance Hall Preservation, Inc. McDougal is currently pursuing short-term and long-term contracts on a project basis. She is headquartered in the greater Houston area and works with clients throughout Texas and the United States.
