Steffen Walter

Steffen Walter is a prominent figure in the field of cancer immunotherapy with over 19 years of experience. He currently leads Immatics' Cell Therapy platform and pipeline, overseeing manufacturing, process development, and quality management. Steffen Walter played a crucial role in establishing Immatics' presence in the US in collaboration with MD Anderson Cancer Center.

With a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Tuebingen, Germany, Steffen Walter has made significant contributions to the development of innovative technologies and platforms at Immatics. He is credited with inventing numerous patents and has co-authored over 30 publications in renowned scientific journals.

Steffen Walter's expertise extends to human T-cell biology and the development of T-cell-based therapeutic modalities. He has been instrumental in the advancement of Immatics' XPRESIDENT®, Immunomonitoring, and XCEPTOR™ platforms, contributing to the generation of safe and effective cell therapies.

Throughout his career, Steffen Walter has held key positions at Immatics Biotechnologies, including Director, Vice President of Immunology, and Chief Scientific Officer.
