Stanislav Nikolov

Stanislav Nikolov is a seasoned researcher and engineer with a strong background in applied machine learning research, health, and science.

He has a remarkable track record, having been a core member of the AlphaFold2 team, which received accolades such as being featured on the cover of Nature, winning the Breakthrough Prize, Wiley Prize, Canada Gairdner International Award, and Lasker Award for their outstanding work on protein folding.

In his role as a Research Engineer at DeepMind, Stanislav took the lead on the radiotherapy project under DeepMind Health, establishing a significant partnership with the Mayo Clinic, garnering attention in the Spring 2020 Alphabet earnings call, and currently undergoing clinical validation.

His contributions to diagnosing eye diseases at DeepMind resulted in expert accuracy and were even featured on the cover of Nature Medicine.

Prior to his tenure at DeepMind, Stanislav gained experience in production backend engineering and data science at Twitter, and conducted research in computational science and machine learning, showcasing his diverse skill set.

Stanislav Nikolov's academic journey includes pursuing a Master's in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science with a focus on AI, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field with a minor in Mathematics, both from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, he attended Stuyvesant High School.
