Stan Cross
Accelerating electric transportation and clean energy
Stan Cross is a dedicated professional focused on accelerating America's electric transportation and clean energy transitions.
In 2010, Stan co-founded Brightfield Transportation Solutions, a company that designs and deploys solar-integrated electric vehicle charging stations with the goal of advancing clean energy initiatives.
Stan recently joined the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy to lead electric transportation policy work across utility, state, and local government levels in the Southeast.
With expertise as an electric transportation consultant, Stan has actively contributed to the development of electric mobility plans in cities like Raleigh and Charlotte, NC, and is currently engaged in guiding transportation electrification planning in NC, SC, TN, and FL.
Additionally, Stan supports regional policy efforts by participating in boards and committees of organizations such as Plug-In NC, Drive Electric Florida, and Drive Electric Tennessee.
Prior to his involvement in electric transportation, Stan spent 15 years leading sustainability and climate action programs at Warren Wilson College, serving in various roles including Director of Development, Interim Executive Director of the Environmental Leadership Center, and Sustainability Director.
Stan's educational background includes a Master's degree in Liberal Arts and Science with a focus on sustainability and climate change from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, as well as studies in Psychology and Business Administration at Skidmore College, and Overseas Study courses in marketing and psychology at the University of Adelaide.
