I worked with former felons, pre-trial intervention candidates and probationers to support them in securing employment, housing and to meet other needs. Systems navigation was an essential piece of this position, requiring me to research and compile resources for clients.

Facilitated career transition workshops for diverse firms that included resume development, interviewing strategies, and salary negotiation; provided guidance and job search support for both blue- and white-collar clients. Navigated  tense territory between recently laid-off employees and management for the duration of on-site workshops. Built safe environment to encourage participants to share the truth of their work-related experience to create authentic resumes. I also wrote resumes for numerous private clients in a variety of industries including healthcare, administrative, manufacturing, customer service, warehouse services, marketing, sales, retail and banking. Clients include including Dow Chemical, Federated Department Stores, United Health Care, American National Can and Barnes & Noble.

My teaching experience includes verbal SAT prep for The Princeton Review, creative writing for 4-H and developing and teaching my own curriculum for The Life Enrichment Center in Tampa, FL where I taught seniors literary genres from creative non-fiction and poetry to memoir and short stories. I have taught women at risk in several shelters as well as in prison, bringing the freedom and expression of creativity to difficult situations.

I have facilitated career transition workshops for a wide range of industries and companies and have created multiple personal development workshops that I have facilitated in locations like The Learning Annex/NYC and a variety of venues in both Tampa and Pittsburgh.
