Stacey Marks
NIH Grant Experience - Training & Development
Stacey Marks is currently the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering, a position she has held since June 2022.1 In this role, she is responsible for expanding recruitment, programming, partnerships, implementing community building, and professional development to support the success and retention of historically underrepresented graduate students and faculty.1
Prior to her current position, Stacey served as an Academic Program Manager at Johns Hopkins University from January 2017 to November 2022.1 She has a long history with the university, having worked as an Admissions Coordinator from July 2000 to January 2017.1
Stacey is actively involved in various university initiatives. She serves on both the newly established Johns Hopkins University Staff Council and the Whiting School of Engineering Staff Council.2 Her dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion has been recognized with the James Calvin Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the Johns Hopkins University Diversity Leadership Council in May 2023.12
In her current role as the Outreach and Belonging Program Manager, Stacey collaborates with NSF PROJECT Elevate grant partners at Carnegie Mellon University and New York University on faculty professional development efforts.2 She is committed to strengthening recruitment programs, fostering community engagement, and creating professional development opportunities for graduate students.2
Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Master of Science degree from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.2 It's also worth noting that she is a proud Army veteran.2
