Worked on a project involving the "Make, Bake and Break" of a carbon fibre component manufactured using an ATL/AFP robotic arm. Modified G-code and created testing plans for off-axis head alignment to overcome tool path collision issues for the manufacture of a wheel for a solar-electric car using automated fibre placement.

Support in all aspects of outreach for the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW, from planning, safety inductions, communicating with prospective students and running of events. The largest events for prospective students were UNSW Open Day (c.35000 attendees) and High School Information Day

As Operations Manager:
2018 – Managed Workplace Health and Safety processes and audits, member training, logistics, workshop maintenance and new facility bring-up, testing plans and travel planning.  Provided technical and operational leadership across the Administration, Business and Technical teams.


As Head of Aerodynamics:
2017 – Led a team of 5 to create Redback’s first high-downforce aerodynamics package. Expected lap-time improvement of 10% on a typical Formula SAE circuit – achieved 6.3% on-track. Achieved 4th in Engineering Design Presentation.

2016 – Developed a low-drag aerodynamics package for our 2016 car. Reduced subsystem weight by 11% and improved radiator cooling efficiency by 6% using re-designed nosecone and sidepods. Trained 12 new undergraduate students into the Aerodynamics team, focusing on CAD, documentation, manufacturing, testing, budgeting and presentation skills. Experienced cross-functional development to produce a high quality and cost-effective implementation of the prototype.


As an engineer:
2015 – Constructed and assembled components for the Chassis, Aerodynamics and Powertrain departments. Trained in working with hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery – certified at Sydney Institute of TAFE (MEM07032B, MEM18001C and MEM18002B). Primarily worked with Aluminium, Steel, Carbon Fibre, Fibreglass, Aramid Honeycomb, MDF and ABS in additive, subtractive and sheet forming manufacturing techniques.
