Sriram Krishnamurthy

Sriram Krishnamurthy is a veteran engineering manager in the field of big data management and query processing. He currently manages the Photon Team at Databricks, which has produced the powerful query engine responsible for Databricks' record-breaking benchmarking performance. Prior to this role, he led the Query Processing and Ingestion team at Amazon Redshift, where he developed key product features that resolved strategic gaps in the service. Before joining Amazon, Krishnamurthy held various leadership positions on the Semi-Structured Data Processing team at Oracle, contributing to the development of CLOB and BLOB processing, SQL query processing, and JSON/XML storage in the Oracle Database. Krishnamurthy received his Master's degree in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University and his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
