Regional Director at World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)

As a Regional Director, I oversaw the strategic direction and operational management of the World Scout Bureau Eurasia Support Centre and the Eurasia Region consisting of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. 

I played a pivotal role in driving regional scouting initiatives and fostering collaborative relationships with National Scouting Organizations across Eurasia (former Soviet Union region), which significantly enhanced program effectiveness of the Scout Movement in these countries.

In addition, I provided guidance in the development and implementation of policies and ethical standards, ensuring alignment with the global vision of Scouting. 

My role as Regional Director was characterized by a commitment to excellence and a focus on achieving the organization's goals and objectives of serving the best interest of the Member Organizations and the children and young people they serve.

Key Accomplishments:
• Led diverse, remote team, promoting a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and high performance to bring transformation in practice of Scouting in most of the countries in the Region.

World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)

Regional Director

During my tenure as an Interim Coordinator, I assumed a leadership role for the Eurasia Region following a major transition. 

My primary focus was on strategically reviving the Scout Movement across former Soviet countries during a critical transitional phase. To achieve this, I implemented a systems-based approach and innovative methodologies, which proved highly successful in reversing declining trends in both quality and quantity.

I also engaged in close collaboration with key stakeholders, working diligently to develop and ratify a comprehensive roadmap. This roadmap was designed to target strategic growth and ensure sustainable development within member countries. 

As an Interim Coordinator, I played a crucial role in revitalizing and strengthening the Scout Movement in the Eurasia Region.

Key Achievements:
• Catalysed turnaround of Scout Movement in Eurasia, reversing negative trends in member countries within months.
• Formulated and secured stakeholder agreement on a strategic roadmap for future growth and development.
• Employed innovative strategies and systems approach to enhance program quality and expansion.

In my role as the Head of Business Development at Crediwatch, I took the lead in driving initiatives aimed at extending financial inclusion to underbanked and unreached populations. My efforts were focused on pioneering the adaptation of technology to enhance transparency and integrity in public governance and administration through data-driven decision-making.

Despite the short period I spent with this Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based Data Science and Analytics start up, I am proud to have guided the team to a significant achievements in spreading the business — including the successful win of a prestigious global tech challenge hosted by Citibank. This victory showcased our innovation and expertise in financial technology solutions, particularly in the realm of integrity management and transparency. 

My tenure as Head of Business Development was marked by a commitment to advancing financial inclusion and leveraging technology for the betterment of public governance.

Senior Business Development Manager

In my capacity as the Executive Director at the Office of the Secretary General, I played a pivotal role in ensuring the effective execution of governance and management decisions. This was achieved by developing essential internal processes, tools, and communication channels.

One of my key responsibilities was to establish and enforce compliance frameworks, actively supporting both internal and external audit processes. Additionally, I led the creation of comprehensive rules, policies, and guidelines to govern a diverse, global team of over 120 staff members spanning the World Scout Bureau's 6 Regions and 2 Global Centres.

As a key member and coordinator of the 12-member Senior Management Team, I played a crucial role in maintaining transparency and efficiency in high-level decision-making processes. My tenure as Executive Director was characterized by a commitment to robust governance, compliance, and effective management within the organization.

• Enhanced governance and management by implementing critical internal processes and compliance frameworks.
• Drove transparency and efficiency in executive management decisions as key team member and coordinator.
• Led people management initiatives and mentored the inaugural HR Manager, following the strategic division of HR responsibilities from general administration.

- Established a digital and social media strategy and put in place relevant guidelines and management processes
- Transitioned the communications and external relations team through reorganisation processes
- Developed a linked-up global team of communications for World Scouting across Regions and global level
- Worked closely with volunteers in Scouting

Director, Communications and External Relations

- Responsible for day-to-day implementation of the Communications and External Relations strategies of WOSM. 
- Worked closely with the Director of Communications and External Relations in offering strategic support to the department.
- Ensured that the content on all World Scouting's communication channels and platforms is continuously flowing with balanced information from various WOSM sources.
- Represented WOSM externally and worked closely with colleagues from the Regions with similar responsibilities.
- Managed the negotiation and creation of new partnerships and agreements.
- Maintained relationships with partners and coordinated internal implementation of MoUs.

Overview:
- Started part time while studying at university and expanded to full time subsequently 
- Being an entrepreneur, this profession helped remain flexible and yet focussed

Work:
- Developed a network of (over 5000 people from 1999 to 2005) Independent Beauty Consultants for marketing and selling Oriflame Cosmetics, all over India.
- Created leaders by identifying those with potential, training them and mentoring them to success.
- In 2005, was generating sales worth INR 1 Crore (250,000 USD) per annum from the network
