Srijib Mukherjee, Ph.D. , P.E.

Dr. Srijib Mukherjee is a highly experienced professional with a background spanning over 30 years in research, engineering, academia, and management, specializing in Power Systems Operations, Transmission Planning, Energy Markets, Electrical Grid Resiliency, and Distributed Generation of Power Systems.

He holds an MBA in Finance from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami. Currently, he serves as a Joint Faculty Professor at the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Bredesen Center.

Dr. Mukherjee's research interests include autonomous cars, electric charging infrastructure, and energy storage technologies. His extensive career includes roles in US electric utilities, energy consulting firms, academia, and government agencies, where he has made significant contributions and published numerous research papers, reports, and patents.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in operating the US Grid as a NERC Certified System Operator. Additionally, he serves as a Program Evaluator for ABET and an Alternate Board Member of the IEEE CEAA.

Apart from his professional endeavors, Dr. Mukherjee is actively involved in mentoring Ph.D. and master's students and volunteers his time to tutor high school students in math. He is a dedicated parent of two college-age children and enjoys activities like gardening, tennis, and reading non-fiction books.
