Sreenivas KR
Resident Editor, The Times of India, Hyderabad, at Bennett Coleman & Company Limited
Sreenivas KR was the Resident Editor of The Times of India in Hyderabad, working for Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited.14 He had a reputation for turning around newspapers and had been in the role of Resident Editor in Hyderabad for 21 months, during which time he revamped the Hyderabad edition.5
However, Sreenivas KR gained significant attention in October 2018 when he became embroiled in the #MeToo movement in India. Multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct and harassment.12 The allegations against him included:
- Sending lewd messages
- Touching women inappropriately
- Making sexual remarks
- Creating an uncomfortable and unsafe work environment for women
As a result of these allegations, seven women petitioned The Times of India, demanding his termination.3 The newspaper initially placed Sreenivas on administrative leave while an internal committee investigated the claims.2
On October 13, 2018, Sreenivas KR resigned from his position as Resident Editor of The Times of India in Hyderabad.167 His resignation came in the wake of the multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault made against him during the #MeToo movement.2
