Sonia Sehra
Sonia Sehra is a highly talented software engineer and mathematician with an impressive educational background. She graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science and was on the Dean's List. She also honed her skills through the Science Honors Program at Columbia University, where she studied as an undergraduate visiting student in Economics at New York University, and attended Horace Mann School for Secondary School.
Sehra has held numerous professional roles in technology, starting as a research intern at Columbia University and later, a backend engineering intern at TVision, and a machine learning researcher at AMISTAD Lab. She joined Microsoft, where she is currently a software engineer, working on Azure Stack, a cloud computing service for building and deploying hybrid and edge computing applications.
Apart from working on bleeding-edge technologies, Sehra has served as a grader and tutor at her alma mater, Harvey Mudd College, and as a teacher at STEAM:CODERS. She was the founder & lead organizer at HackMann Hackathon, a regional manager and evangelist of CodeDay NYC at StudentRND, and a tutor at the Columbia Tutoring and Learning Center.
Sehra is passionate about math, algorithms, and artificial intelligence research, particularly machine learning and reinforcement learning. She's also interested in puzzles, poker, and probability, and loves talking about fun math problems.
