Sonia Samagh

Dr. Sonia Preet Kaur Samagh, MD, MBA, is an accomplished professional with a background in internal medicine, healthcare strategy, and digital health innovation.

She holds a Medical Doctorate from UCSF School of Medicine in Internal Medicine, and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, with a focus on early-stage startups in med-tech, bio-tech, and digital health.

Dr. Samagh has over 8 years of experience in strategy and operations, specializing in value-based care, care team management, and population health at DaVita Medical Group and Optum Health, a part of United Health Group.

She has over 11 years of early-stage health-tech experience, including corporate venture, digital health strategy, and product development. Notably, she founded Optum's Center for Digital Health and Innovation, spearheading the launch of digital health products and services.

During her tenure at Optum Health, Dr. Samagh led the Optum COVID Digital Response Team, facilitating rapid deployment of telehealth solutions and remote patient monitoring, resulting in over 1.3 million virtual visits in 2020.

Her educational background includes an MD in Medicine with honors in Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, and Radiation Oncology from UCSF, an MBA in Business from Stanford, and a BA in Human Biology and Neuroscience from Stanford University.
