She served as the Policy Director & Community Organizer at Emerald Cities Collaborative, and previously held positions such as Legislative Director and Director of Policy & Advocacy at Senator Katie Muth's office. She also worked as a Strategy Consultant at Self-employed and The Tao Foundation. Furthermore, she gained experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.

    In addition to her roles in the United States, Sonia has international experience having served as a Director at Turkey Think Tank 2015 and as a Teaching Assistant Professor in France for TAPIF. Prior to these positions, she contributed as a Research Assistant at Georgia State University and worked as a Strategy Consultant at Ebrik Coffee Room where she also served as a Barista.
