Sonali Majumdar, PhD, is a versatile professional with a background in life science research, higher education administration, and clinical embryology.
With a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The University of Georgia, Sonali has a strong foundation in RNA biology and CRISPR-Cas systems.
She has also conducted research on mRNA processing events during brain development and micro RNAs in recurrent pan-cancer mutations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Prior to her research roles, Sonali worked as a clinical embryologist at a fertility clinic in India and gained experience in IVF laboratory setup and practice during her time in Israel.
Currently serving as the Associate Director of Graduate Professional Development at the University of Virginia, she leads the development of the PhD Plus program aimed at preparing PhD students and postdocs for diverse career paths.
Her expertise lies in strategic thinking, growth mindset, and fostering collaborations to address complex challenges.
