Sonal P. Patel

Sonal P. Patel is a dedicated volunteer at the MIT Museum, where she has been actively involved for over 13 years. Her role includes engaging in various educational activities, conducting demonstrations in the museum galleries, training new volunteers, and interacting with visitors to enhance their experience. She also participates in special events, such as the Cambridge Science Festival, and advocates for accessibility in education, particularly for individuals with visual impairments.12

In addition to her volunteer work, Patel holds a PhD in Physics and is recognized as an educator, environmentalist, and proponent of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). She is also an advocate for accessibility in education and lifelong learning.1 Her contributions have earned her several accolades, including The Great Dome Award from the MIT Alumni Association and the President's Volunteer Service Award (Gold) from The Corporation for National & Community Service.1
