Sohum J Shah is an entrepreneur, consultant, and professional with a strong background in the legal cannabis industry.
Beginning his career as a budtender at a medical dispensary in Colorado, Shah identified the need for a reliable wholesale service for licensed cannabis dispensaries, cultivators, and processors.
In 2014, along with a team of attorneys and a developer, Shah launched the Cannabis Commodities Exchange, striving to provide a trusted platform for the industry.
Transitioning from this venture, in 2016, Shah partnered with Jake Browne and Sam Sandt to establish The Grow-Off, the first data-driven competition for cannabis cultivators.
Acknowledged by the Marijuana Enforcement Division for compliance with state laws, The Grow-Off gained recognition within the industry.
Shah later joined MassRoots, Inc. as the Director of Investor Relations, where he also spearheaded business development and technology product oversight.
Currently running SJ Shah & Co, Shah evaluates and advises startups on revenue strategies, business development, and fundraising.
Moreover, he is involved in the creation of an animated series titled 'Durban's World' and has contributed as a freelance writer and cannabis critic for The Cannabist.
Shah's educational background includes a BSBA from the University of Arizona and a BBA from the University of Colorado Boulder.
He continues to drive innovation and progress within the cannabis industry, balancing entrepreneurial ventures with consulting and creative projects.
