Sofie Graham

Sofie Graham is a Software Engineer at Meta, specifically working within Meta Reality Labs. She recently relocated to Seattle from Boulder, Colorado, to start her new role after successfully transitioning from a previous career in video game design and marketing to software engineering. Sofie's journey into coding began later in life; she taught herself programming while working in roles that lacked the technical resources she needed for her projects. This led her to enroll in a coding bootcamp, after which she worked as a full-stack product engineer and later transitioned to backend engineering at Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW), where she built foundational microservices and scaled the backend during a significant growth phase.13

Before joining Meta in March 2024, Sofie participated in Formation, a fellowship program designed to prepare engineers for interviews with major tech companies. Her experience there was pivotal, as it helped her improve her problem-solving skills and gain confidence in technical interviews, ultimately leading to multiple job offers from FAANG companies.12

In addition to her technical work, Sofie is also involved in mentoring aspiring engineers through organizations like Out in Tech, reflecting her commitment to giving back to the tech community.4
