Sobhana Jaya-Madhavan is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in social work, human resources, government relations, and education.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy & Psychology, a Ph.D. Candidacy in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, and an MSW in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
With over 20 years of experience, Sobhana has worked with various organizations in different parts of the world, including the British Columbia (BC) Government, NewGen KnowledgeWorks, and currently serves as the Associate Vice President - External Relations at Simon Fraser University.
Her expertise includes developing high-performance teams, community engagement, child welfare, public relations, government relations, strategic partnerships, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion.
Passionate about disruptive tech, decentralized finance, NFTs, and crypto, Sobhana is a relationship architect, education champion, and social good advisor committed to making the world a fairer and kinder place.
She has been recognized for her contributions and was nominated for the BC Medal of Good Citizenship award in 2015.
