Eleanor Smith

Eleanor Smith is a seasoned professional, currently serving as the Managing Director for the Corporate & Healthcare Practice Groups at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, a position she has held since 2005.

With over 15 years of experience in business development and practice management, Eleanor is instrumental in strategic planning, client development, service enhancement, and ensuring customer satisfaction within the firm.

Eleanor's expertise lies in attracting work for the firm, expanding client relationships, national brand development, creating business development strategies, and recruiting lateral talent to foster the firm's growth.

She oversees various aspects of practice management, including financial analysis, utilization monitoring, productivity enhancement, staffing resolutions, recruiting decisions, lateral integration, and fostering communication among practice groups and client teams.

Eleanor's focus within the Healthcare and Corporate practices includes areas such as mergers and acquisitions, public company advisory, private equity, healthcare regulatory compliance, and addressing software vendor issues in hospital settings.

Additionally, Eleanor has played a key role in designing strategic events for the firm, such as the Health Care Investors Conference and the Specialty Pharmacy CLE program, which cater to specific industry needs and client requirements.

Active in professional organizations, Eleanor is a member of the Nashville Health Care Council's Leadership Health Care and the American Health Lawyers Association. She has also held roles such as Chair of the Nashville Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association and served on the Board of Directors for Our Kids, Inc. since 2006.

Eleanor's educational background includes a BA in Business from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee.
