Slater McLean is a veteran product manager and startups director who excels at leading new initiatives and building communities. With a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, Slater co-founded Oliver Charles, a brand that crafts high-quality sweaters for flexible everyday wear. Prior to this venture, Slater honed his skills as a product manager at OneValley (formerly GSVlabs), overseeing the development of the Passport OS platform from its early stages to its $1M ARR. Slater's portfolio at OneValley boasted over a million dollars in investments and included the Maverick Accelerator, a custom two-year accelerator program that supports early-stage tech companies. Slater also spearheaded the launch of the GSVlabs Investor Forum network, connecting over 450 venture capitalists worldwide and facilitating over 150 introductions. His interest in entrepreneurship is also evident in his role as an investing partner with the Maverick Fund, which focuses on partnerships with early-stage founders. Slater studied finance at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and completed Draper University's Entrepreneurial Studies. In addition, he boasts an impressive history of extracurricular activities, such as running a non-profit accelerator for Cal Poly students, sitting on the board of student entrepreneurship and investment clubs, and running the university's Elevator Pitch Competition.
