Early Life and Education
Miller grew up in Scotland and attended various schools, including Meldrum Primary School, Nottingham High School, and Salisbury School in the USA. He holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics. He also studied at the London Film School and the National Film & Television School.1
Film Career
Miller's debut feature film, Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle, released in 2007, was the first Scottish Gaelic feature film to gain theatrical release. It was nominated for three BAFTAs and the Michael Powell Award. The film was written in collaboration with several Scottish Gaelic writers and poets. This film garnered significant attention, including controversy when BAFTA refused to nominate it for the Best Foreign Language Film Category at the 2008 Academy Awards.1
In addition to feature films, Miller has directed short films, such as Foighidinn – The Crimson Snowdrop, which debuted at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2005.1
Technology and Music Industry
Miller has co-founded several technology media companies, including PeopleSound (an early music streaming platform), SWOPEX (an online film, music, and game exchange), and Beamly (originally a second-screen app, later a social digital marketing platform and agency). He has also worked as an executive in the music industry for Universal Music and EMI.1

Miller is a co-founder of the New Forest Film Festival, along with notable figures like Mark Kermode and Linda Ruth Williams. He is also the founder of New Forest Film Co, where he serves as a writer, director, and producer. In 2018, he joined the founding team of the brand start-up The Craftory.13

Miller has appeared on the TV quiz show Eggheads as part of the winning team, The Black & White Stripes, representing Abbey Road Studios in 2010.1
