    Simon Coghlan is a versatile professional with a background in veterinary medicine, philosophy, and education.

    Currently, Simon is involved in curriculum design for health ethics at the University of Adelaide and conducts research on robots and digital ethics at the University of Melbourne.

    His teaching and research cover an array of subjects including philosophy, ethics, bioethics, animal/human studies, metaethics, normative ethics, bioethics, environmental and animal ethics, and philosophy of mind.

    He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary areas of human and animal relations and seeks collaborations to expand research and teaching in philosophy and transdisciplinary fields such as One Health, Human/Animal Relations, Animal Welfare/Ethics, and Technology.

    Simon's educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne, a Higher School Certificate where he was the Dux of School at St Leo's CBC, a Graduate Diploma of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne with High Distinction, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with Special Distinction in Philosophy from the Australian Catholic University, a Masters in Bioethics from Monash University with a focus on Human/Animal Cloning, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from the Australian Catholic University.

    Throughout his career, Simon has held various roles such as Senior Lecturer in Health Ethics at the University of Adelaide, Research Fellow in Social Robotics and Ethics at the University of Melbourne, Veterinarian at Epsom Road Vet Clinic, Lecturer in Health Ethics and Professionalism at Deakin University, and Lecturer in Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University.
