Silas Deane
Founder & CEO, VendEngine
Silas Deane is an accomplished entrepreneur and technology executive with extensive experience in the corrections industry.12 He founded VendEngine, Inc. in 2011, a cloud-based correctional software company that provides comprehensive inmate commissary, electronic payment platforms, and communications networks.23 VendEngine was recognized as one of North America's Top 300 Fastest Growing Technology Companies by Deloitte and Touche in 2020.5
In 2021, VendEngine was acquired by Tyler Technologies for $84 million.46 Following the acquisition, Silas Deane transitioned to the role of General Manager and Vice President of the Corrections Solutions team at Tyler Technologies.26
Prior to founding VendEngine, Deane spent over a decade in Washington, D.C., working in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives as a technology expert.2 He also served as the Executive Director of the International Microelectronics Society.2
