Shuo Yang is an accomplished entrepreneur with a diverse range of professional experiences that span several industries. He is a graduate of Stanford University, where he earned an MS in Management Science and Engineering, and the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a B.S. with High Honors in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. Additionally, he has completed the S15 Batch at Y Combinator.
Yang's career began in engineering, working as a Product Development Engineer at Ford Motor Company and a Microfluidics test & measurement engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He then transitioned to the consulting industry, holding positions at The Boston Consulting Group and 3LP / Sherpa Technology Group. After that, he worked as a Securities Operations Associate at Fisher Investments before ultimately pivoting into entrepreneurship.
Yang has founded and held leadership positions in multiple companies, including Maderight Co, ASPECD Apparel, Opal Guild Limited, and Paragon Advisors, LLC. His most recent role is as Principal at Fifty Years, where he invests in and helps grow startups that are making a positive impact on the world. Yang has also served as a Director at Asia Jewellery Holdings, Ltd. and a Marketing Engineer at National Instruments.
