Dr. Shivan Sivakumar is a distinguished medical oncologist specializing in HPB oncology and early phase drug development for GI cancers. With a keen interest in researching the pancreatic cancer microenvironment, Dr. Sivakumar is dedicated to shaping effective therapeutic interventions.
Dr. Sivakumar's academic journey encompasses a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a BMedSci in Molecular Therapeutics from Barts and the London School of Medicine, Queen Mary University of London. He furthered his education by obtaining MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in London and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the prestigious University of Cambridge.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sivakumar has held prominent positions at esteemed institutions. He served as a Clinical Career Development Fellow in medical oncology at the University of Oxford and as an Honorary Consultant in medical oncology- HPB oncologist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Moreover, he has contributed as an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology at University of Oxford, Academic Clinical Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Leeds, and in Core Medical Training at Wales Deanery. Dr. Sivakumar has also worked as a Clinical Research Fellow (PhD candidate) at St. John's College, University of Cambridge, and as part of the Academic Foundation Programme at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
