Shirin Merola

Shirin Merola is an experienced professional with a diverse background in environmental management, climate change, and international relations.

She holds an MSc in Environmental Management and Climate Change from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BSc (Hons) in Politics with a focus on International Relations, International Development, Conflict, and European Politics from the University of Bath.

Shirin has held various roles at the World Food Programme, including Forecast-based Financing Coordinator for Africa, Climate Risk Management Specialist, Regional Climate Risk Management Officer, and Programme Officer, where she has contributed significantly to risk management and program development initiatives.

Prior to her work at the World Food Programme, Shirin served as a Research Assistant at the Overseas Development Institute and as an Associate at HLD Partners, gaining valuable experience in research and partnership building.

With her extensive experience in climate risk management and international development, Shirin Merola continues to make meaningful contributions to the field.
