Shira Kaplan, a prominent figure in the cybersecurity industry, was born and raised in Herzliya, Israel. She is an alumna of the prestigious 8200 Elite Technology Unit of the Intelligence, Harvard University with a B.A., and the University of St. Gallen HSG where she earned her MBA. Shira is a mother of three trilingual, Montessori-trained children.
In 2016, at the age of 40, Shira founded Cyverse AG in Zurich with the aim of bridging Europe with Israel's thriving cyber ecosystem. The foundation of Cyverse was inspired by her MBA Thesis on Swiss Venture Capital Investments in Israeli Cyber-Security Startups.
Under Shira's leadership, Cyverse AG has emerged as a leading provider of cutting-edge Israeli cyber-security solutions for enterprises in the DACH region. Her entrepreneurial journey continued in 2021 when she co-launched 'Cyverse Capital' with her husband, Foray Into Angel Investing In early-stage cybersecurity firms.
Shira and her husband have established themselves as key investors in several successful ventures like Talon, Fireblocks, CyberX (acquired by MSFT), Cardinalops, ZeroNetworks, Lightspin (acquired by Cisco), and IntSights (acquired by Rapid7). Prior to founding Cyverse, She gained valuable experience in global corporations like Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Bank Julius Baer & Co.
Throughout her career, Shira has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, establishing herself as a respected figure in the business world. Her achievements include being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, a standout among '40 Israeli Business Leaders under 40' by Globes, and a Top 100 Digital Shaper by the Swiss magazine Bilanz for multiple consecutive years.
