    Shira Berkowitz is a community advocate and designer with a strong focus on regional systems change. She excels in utilizing communication platforms to empower individuals and connect with diverse audiences.

    Shira's educational background includes an MFA in conceptual art making and theoretical practice from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with Cum Laude honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

    Throughout her career, Shira has held key roles in various organizations, including serving as Co-Director at PROMO, President and Founder at MaTovu, and as a Designer at Independent where she focused on HCD, UxD, and visual design.

    Shira has also contributed to the arts community through positions like the RAC+CIC@CET Artist Residency at the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis and as the Director of Advocacy and Communications at Central Reform Congregation.

    Additionally, Shira has a diverse professional background, having been an Entrepreneurial Fellow at JFACE, Technology Coordinator at Pulitzer Arts Foundation, Faculty in Art History and Printmaking at Saint Louis Community College, and Manager of Audience Development at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation.

    With a passion for education and community engagement, Shira has also served as a Family Room Specialist at Apple and as an Outdoor Education Director/Supervisor at JCC Camp Sabra.
