Sherman Jia

Sherman Jia is a board-certified neurologist specializing in genetics and neuroimmunology. Currently, he is spearheading biomarker development and personalized healthcare initiatives at Genentech.

Sherman Jia pursued his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Medicine from Harvard Medical School. Prior to that, he earned a B.S. and M.Eng in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Professionally, Sherman Jia serves as the Medical Director for Biomarker Development at Genentech. Previously, he held positions as a Fellow in Neuroimmunology at the University of California, San Francisco, and as a Resident in Neurology at UCSF Medical Center. Sherman also completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
