Shelly Cumbie Alcorn

Unapologetically idealistic and obsessed with the idea that associations can and should make a significant difference in the world around us.

Shelly Alcorn is a versatile association management expert, change management specialist, and educator. With an AA in Social Science from American River College, Shelly started her career in change management at a young age, having attended 11 different schools before graduating high school. As an experienced executive director at several 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) associations and organizations, she has a rich background in board governance, facilitative leadership, and future-driven strategic decision making. She is also very passionate about education and the association of the future. Currently, Shelly serves as the COO of Ubiquity University, where she applies her skills and experience to design and deliver innovative education that empowers learners' critical thinking and leadership skills. Shelly is a self-proclaimed edupunk and CAE-certified association executive, who loves to share her thoughts on the future of association management and education in her blog, Association Forecast. Shelly is also a regular speaker on various topics, including human machine-interfaces, education to employment system, and association management.
