Sheetal Mehta Walsh is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur with a passion for microfinance and innovation. She holds a Master of Science degree in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Political Science from the University of Alberta, Canada. She has served in various capacities, including Chief Strategy Officer for the Ministry Jobs, Economy and Innovation Alberta and as the Founder of Soho Ventures, the UK's first female-led VC fund for seed-stage and responsible, sustainable companies.
Sheetal is also the Founder of Shanti Life, a recycling microfinance fund that empowers women and promotes financial inclusion for vulnerable women in India. She has also served on several boards, including Innovate Edmonton, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, and MetaCert, an anti-phishing company based in Silicon Valley. Additionally, she has served as an Advisor to the Board of Virtual Visions, an interactive mirror company, and as an Advisor to the London School of Economics Careers team, focusing on entrepreneurship.
Sheetal's outstanding achievements and dedication to empowering women and promoting entrepreneurship have earned her numerous awards, including the Asian Women of Achievement Social and Humanitarian Award, Management Today Magazine's 35 Under 35 Award, and the Success Magazine Award for No. 5 of the top most powerful Asian women in the UK. She was also listed in the No. 3 "Ones to Watch" section of the Asian Power 100 List, which recognizes the most influential and highest achieving Asian women in Britain.
Sheetal has been a distinguished spokesperson on entrepreneurship and microfinance and has presented at prestigious forums such as Cambridge, LSE, Doha Forum, House of Lords, Stanford, TEDx, and more. She has also been invited to Buckingham Palace for a "Women in Business" reception hosted by Her Majesty, The Queen. Moreover, Sheetal has received an Alumni Award of Excellence from the University of Alberta and was nominated for the Microsoft Alumni Integral Awards. She is also a certified yoga teacher, reflecting her commitment to promoting holistic wellness.
