Shawn VanDerziel

Shawn VanDerziel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), a role he has held since March 2020. Based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he leads an organization dedicated to supporting professionals involved in the development and employment of college-educated talent. NACE serves over 17,000 members, including career services professionals from colleges and universities, corporate recruiters, and business solution providers.1

Before joining NACE, VanDerziel spent over 23 years at The Field Museum in Chicago, where he held various human resources roles, culminating as Chief Human Resources Officer. His responsibilities included overseeing staffing strategies and managing volunteers and interns.1

VanDerziel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Disciplinary Social Sciences from Michigan State University (1989-1993). He holds professional certifications as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) .1
