Shaun Hughes

Shaun Hughes is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in law, nutrition, and humanitarian work.

He holds a LLB Hons Law and French from the University of Birmingham, a Post Graduate Certificate in Nutrition in Emergencies from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, and a Diplome d'etudes Juridiques Francais in Droit/Law from Université de Limoges.

Shaun has an extensive career with various organizations, notably serving as the Head of Food Systems, Resilience and Nutrition in Kenya for the World Food Programme.

He has held key roles at the Department for International Development (DFID) and the United Nations, including positions such as Emergency Coordinator, Head of Innovation, Analysis and Nutrition, and Senior Humanitarian Adviser in countries like Nigeria, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Zimbabwe.

Shaun's professional journey also includes work as a Humanitarian Operations Specialist in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Libya, further showcasing his expertise in conflict zones and emergency response.

Prior to his humanitarian roles, Shaun Hughes taught English and French in The Gambia with VSO, demonstrating his commitment to education and community development.
