Sharon M. Park is a first-year Ph.D. student at the Johns Hopkins University, studying Materials Science and Engineering under the supervision of Professor Kevin Hemker.
She is an adept Graduate Research Assistant in the Materials Science Department, focusing her research on additive manufacturing, advanced characterization, and physical metallurgy.
Sharon has prior research experience from her time at the University of Central Florida, working with Professor Yongho Sohn on various equipment such as a double induction gas atomization system and selective laser melting unit, along with utilizing characterization tools like SEM and XRD.
Her academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Materials Science from the University of Central Florida.
Apart from her academic pursuits, Sharon has professional experience as a former Additive Manufacturing Intern at Siemens A/S Turbomachinery Solutions, a Research Assistant at the University of Central Florida, and as a Private Tutor in a freelance capacity.
