Sharique Azam is an accomplished data engineer specializing in big data technologies. With a rich history of accolades and achievements, Sharique excels in managing incremental data warehouse, leading teams of data engineers, and driving innovation through the creation of advanced location data algorithms.
Sharique began his career at DataStreamX, now part of Quadrant, in 2015, where he developed robust data pipelines for processing both batch and streaming data. At Quadrant, he focuses on combating inauthentic data, particularly in the realm of location data, and has implemented solutions like data stamping and verification clients to ensure data authenticity and provenance.
Prior to his role at Quadrant, Sharique undertook projects involving text mining and web crawler development at Aidias Consulting Pvt Ltd. He also crafted a web application for FIS to monitor credit and debit processing switches. With a penchant for innovation, Sharique co-founded Infinityloopers after winning the National University of Singapore’s iCreate Mobility Challenge in 2014, where he designed a selfie attendance system. Additionally, he emerged victorious at the Tech in Asia Hackathon in the same year.
Sharique's educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications from West Bengal University of Technology and a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the National University of Singapore. His expertise spans Java, SQL, Python, and Solidity smart contracts programming. He possesses advanced skills in big data engineering and frameworks like MapReduce, Spark, and Hive.
Currently, Sharique Azam serves as the Director of Data Engineering at Quadrant.io, having held various roles within the company such as Head of Data Engineering, Big Data & Blockchain Engineer, and Data Engineer. He has also contributed his software engineering skills to organizations like Aidias Consulting Pvt. Ltd and FIS during his career.
