Shannon Talbert

Shannon Talbert is a dedicated advocate and political strategist who currently serves as a Managing Partner at The Firm, a creative agency focused on building campaigns that empower Black women and families.13 Her career has been marked by a commitment to social justice, community organizing, and political engagement.

Professional Background

Shannon's journey in advocacy began with Barack Obama's 2007 primary campaign in South Carolina, where she worked as an organizer focusing on increasing Black voter participation.1 This experience laid the foundation for her future work in community engagement and political strategy.

Before joining The Firm, Shannon held the position of Senior Director of Movement Building at Color Of Change.14 In this role, she spearheaded a groundbreaking program to elect progressive prosecutors with the aim of reducing mass incarceration. Her efforts led to the election of 31 progressive prosecutors and engaged over 60,000 people, showcasing her skills in organizing and collective action.1

As a Managing Partner at The Firm, Shannon brings her extensive expertise to create campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences, from boardrooms to dinner tables.1 Her work focuses on:

Shannon is also the lead organizing consultant to Progressive Maryland's Black Workers Center, where she applies her skills to improve workforce development initiatives.1

Shannon holds a degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.1 She also spent five years working on women's and girls' education issues in the United Arab Emirates, broadening her international experience.14
