Shaila Kotadia

Dr. Shaila Kotadia is the Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) for the Stanford School of Medicine Human Resources Group.12 She provides guidance on building JEDI principles into institutional systems and structures.35 Dr. Kotadia's role focuses primarily on staff, implementing institution-wide JEDI strategic plans, conducting education and facilitation on JEDI topics, leading institutional assessments, reviewing HR policies, and building communication processes.1
Background and Experience
Dr. Kotadia has a Ph.D. in Genetics and Development from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed a postdoc at the University of California, Santa Cruz.1 Before joining Stanford, she led the STEM Equity and Inclusion Initiative at the University of California, Berkeley.1
