Shahana Dattagupta

Shahana Dattagupta is a renowned expert in human-environment interactions with a background in architecture and environmental psychology. She has extensive experience as an integrator, translating research into actionable design frameworks and strategic guidelines. Her expertise in developing and expressing narratives and stories around human need themes, experience journeys, brand, process maps, and presenting these in a manner that inspire ideas and innovation. Shahana's engagement with strategic, leadership, end-user or customer groups in participatory settings has been highly successful in uncovering the strategic opportunities for a project. She has guided design teams through a process of insight-making that results in design solutions that are responsive to strategic opportunities, client and end-user needs. Her experience spans a wide range of experience domains, including workplace, healthcare, institutional, housing, entertainment, and retail environments. Shahana is skilled in a wide range of investigative and design tools, applying both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Shahana studied architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, where she received her B.Arch degree. She also pursued her MS in Architecture (specializing in environmental psychology), Architecture, Environmental Psychology, Design Research at Penn State University. Previously, she worked as a Senior Associate at NBBJ, and later as a Consultant offering strategic storytelling, creativity services. Shahana is currently Founding Partner at Flying Chickadee.
