I head the team that devised a solution to assist rural farmers with new sources of income from the billions of pounds of fruit left to waste that could instead be dried and sold in the U.S. market. I co-authored the business plan to provide solar fruit dehydrators to farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and Central America. I oversee funding and operational strategies to provide dehydrators to rural communities, instruction to farmers, and access to the global supply chain for their products.
 
Our growing network now includes 15K farmers and microprocessors, who have increased their income five-times through use of dehydrators and created more than 130 nutritious and upcycled ingredients at competitive pricing.

I launched a mobile App that targets the USD $48B of remittances the African diaspora sends home each year.  Digital wallet-capable, the App enables direct payments via remittance to home country providers and pharmacies for family healthcare services, slashing cross-border healthcare costs by at least 80% -- currently 54 clinics and over 500 pharmacies are enrolled, serving more than 2M customers in three African countries.

Additionally, our turn-key “Pharmacy-in-a-Cloud” permits mom-and-pop retail pharmacies to have Walgreens-scale efficiency at one-tenth the cost. Operational in 20 Sub-Saharan African pharmacies, we manage 2K drug titles and allow independent operators to function as virtual pharmacy chains. Our digital front-door identifies closest pharmacy carrying prescribed medicine, compares prices, and provides for direct mobile payments.  

We introduced a “Clinic-in-a-Box” that manages medical office business processes, as well as electronic health records (EHR) and now is installed in one of Kenya’s largest missions hospitals and 35 rural clinics.

We also constructed a viable business model based on Blockchain technology that enables secure sale of health information by patients in Developing Countries to finance their healthcare.

I spearheaded the innovation process and training program to improve clinical operations, digital health and the exploration of growth opportunities from third revenue streams, for one of the U.S.’s largest pediatric health systems. Under the Chief Strategy Officer’s leadership, formulated a multi-year digital health strategic plan for quick reaction to dynamic market changes by incorporating business model scenario experimentation to changing priorities while measuring cost-savings’ impact on diversions. To actualize these changes, I headed the 12--person Project Management Office (PMO) and built our Project managers’ competencies for innovation that emphasized digital transformation, project intrinsic value, and patient experience improvement. 

In partnership with the Chief Information Officer, we formulated new partnership models that brought together other children’s hospitals, venture investment and startup communities to pilot new services and treatment tools, such as virtual care, that exploded over 800% in response to the global pandemic. Teaming up with clinicians, we augmented the patient scheduling experience with the design of self-triage tool that empowered caregivers to choose among telemedicine appointment, next day in-clinic visit, or immediate trip to ER.

I co-lead the completion of a multi-million-dollar gene therapy licensing deal that advanced Children’s capitalization infrastructure and intellectual property program. Our cross-functional teams devised new pharmaco-genomics, oncology, rehab, primary care, and virtual care models.

In this role, I helmed a $125M portfolio of innovation projects for the global food company. Leading a 25-person global team, we orchestrated Strategic Management of Intellectual Assets, Royalty Model Management and External Innovation. With projects that ranged from new product and service, efficiency innovations, and new business models, I was subject matter expert (SME) on financial valuation modelling for intellectual property, technology, and data assets used in M&A, joint ventures, and licensing initiatives, as well as composing product roadmaps.
 
Our work led to formation of partnerships with global businesses, such as General Mills, Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Nestle. I also managed digital transformation projects that included adopting microbiome prescriptive analytics data models to justify elimination of antibiotics in animal feed, and predictive analytics-based voice recognition for remote monitoring of animals in sustainable farming. I designed a proprietary Intellectual Asset Management process adopted by eight Cargill business units and supported by a technology portfolio worth over $800M; structured and negotiated various agreements valued at over $1.2B.

I developed and commercialized one of the first and few intellectual property board games, PatentDeal.  The game will be distributed to schools in Africa through various a non-for profit organizations.

Developed in vitro models for the growth of ovarian primordial follicles.  Achieved breakthrough in unlocking the initiation of ovarian follicle growth in non-human primates and cattle.  The results opens to door to using biopsies of ovarian cortex to restore fertility, postponing childbearing in women as well as possible avenues for controlling cancer cell through growth arrest.

Oversaw a program for the development of in vitro modelling for ovarian follicle growth initiation in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, at Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine.
