The charity runs after school workshops five days a week for 11-16 in Music, Drama with Public Speaking, Film Industry, Computer Programming, Entrepreneurial skills, and Cooking all earning Arts Awards or distinctions as points towards their UCAS score each group has two outings to their industry a term to see it in real time. And for sixth formers opportunities and experiences to increase their social intelligence and cultural experiences. Linking their State School Newman Catholic College with a Private School Radley in sports, conferences, geography  and seminars we benefit both schools students. Imperial College has supported their Crest Awards through US and five students have received high distinctions. Oscar Murillo has installed his "Frequencies" international programme to support and promote young artists.Wednesday night dinners at the Alma Cafe with inspirational speakers on all subjects. ALWAYS looking for new speakers. 

US ran a Syrian and Iraqi refugee student summer camp and were over whelmed by the turnout of volunteer teachers from the private sector. A four week course started with 13 students and 8 teachers by the end of the first week 68 students were participating and 28 teachers of extremely high quality and inspiration had materialised as if by magic. It was so exciting for all concerned and US with NCC are planning a further study week over half term. In addition this next month US is working with Brent Youth Trust and NCS (National Citizens Service) offering 16-17 year olds a "Rite of Passage" with a three phase programme including a residential at Caldecotte Xperience. And completing Arts Awards, Crest Awards and taking students (girls) to Benenden College, Kent for a CONFERENCE on Women In Science and Engineering. US is doing this in partnership with Imperial College London.The Duke of Edinburgh Awards are nearing completion and a new relationship with the Prince of Wales Trust is commencing.

I was a trustee of the African American Institute in New York and resigned when I had my second child
During this period I also created the Tutume-McConnell Community College in Botswana and remained on its board till 1986, I was also a board member of the McConnell Foundation during this time

Created a co ed secondary boarding school in the north east of Botswana with two farms and a small mother and child clinic for the village of Tutume. 1500 boarding students with a Brigade School System running parallel based on the van Rensburg philosophy. The Brigades learnt brick making and construction, wood working and carpentry, and mechanics. The female students were taught how to cook on gas and electric  cookers, secretarial studies and sewing. The sewing brigade went on to make many of the school uniforms and earned a lot of money which became problematic as it was a non profit organisation. The school was administered by the Botswana Government and the McConnell Foundation  supplied the architects and expertise and funds to create the school as well as on going funds for the Principle and any extra curricular activities.  Tutume still comes in the top five Botswana schools in athletics as well as scholastically.
