Selin Murat, a seasoned professional in the Canadian documentary film industry, is a co-founder of Parabola Films. With over a decade of experience as a creative producer, Selin has successfully produced author-driven documentaries showcased at various prestigious festivals, theaters, and broadcasts, solidifying her presence in the Canadian documentary landscape.
Transitioning into the realm of Film Festivals and Industry events, Selin excelled as a film programmer and eventually headed the RIDM Industry. In this role, she fostered strong connections with European festivals and markets, co-creating the If! Doc Lab in Istanbul and conducting co-production workshops at esteemed events like CPH
Furthermore, Selin Murat serves as a consultant for multiple international film markets, including the EFM-Berlinale. She is a founding member of the Documentary Association of Europe and provides consulting services to independent filmmakers worldwide, showcasing her commitment to nurturing talent and fostering industry growth.
Selin's academic background is equally impressive, having pursued studies in Bachelor's degree at McGill University, Graduate Diploma in Communications at Concordia University, and B.Arts in International Development, Political Science, and Women Studies at McGill University.
