Selby Rollinson graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1982 and was commissioned as a ranger. He later became an infantry lieutenant and earned his Airborne badge.1 Rollinson served in the Army until he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Selby Rollinson was born in 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida, as the fourth of five sons to Sam and Ruth Rollinson.13 In 1967, his family moved to Rome, Georgia, where he continued his involvement in scouting.2

Sadly, Samuel Milton Selby Rollinson passed away on September 22, 2017, at the age of 57.3 He was remembered as a respected public servant, outstanding citizen, and hero to his community.1 Rollinson's dedication to service and his impact on those around him were widely recognized, including his being awarded the Rotary Club Mary Reed Award.1
