Selamawit Czebotar is an experienced aviation professional with a strong background in airport, aircraft, and airline/charter operations. With over five years of experience, she has a deep understanding of the roles played by government agencies, contractors, and industry players. Selamawit has a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management with Flight Option from Florida Institute of Technology and a Master of Aeronautical Science in Human Factors in Aviation Systems & Safety Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Before her current role, Selamawit has had several successful stints in the aviation industry, including as a Government Transformation Analyst at Harris Miller Miller & Hanson Inc., an International and Domestic Flight Coordinator at ARINC Direct, a System Operations Control Center (SOCC) Analyst at ExpressJet Airlines, and an Airport Operations/Physical Security Technician Assistant at Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Throughout her career, Selamawit has developed a variety of skills and competencies, including data mining, logistics, developing standard operating procedures, and usability testing. Her experience has given her a solid understanding of aviation safety, human factors, governance, and the regulatory environment governing the industry. Selamawit is also a certified Commercial Single and Multiengine pilot with Instrument rating and an active member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).
