Sebastian Barros

Sebastian Barros is a seasoned ICT technology veteran with over 20 years of executive-level experience in driving the development, implementation, and adoption of new technologies.

Specializing in areas such as Telecommunications, Cloud, and Internet of Things, his expertise includes Mobile broadband, IT, Cloud, 5G, and edge computing system integration and consulting.

He is the founder and project lead for sustainability initiatives in Malaysia: Connected mangroves and Connected Setiu wetlands, utilizing IoT and community partnerships for real-time monitoring of soil, water, and weather conditions.

Sebastian holds a diverse educational background, including MBA in management from Tulane University and Universidad de Chile, and training courses from IMD, IESE Business School, Boston University, London Business School, and Universidad Gabriela Mistral.

Throughout his career, Sebastian has held various roles at Ericsson, such as Regional Vice President of Sales, Vice President Sales Axiata Group, Project Lead for Connected Setiu wetlands and Mangroves programs, Consulting Director OSS/BSS EP for South East Asia & Oceania, among others.

Additionally, he has experience as Regional Head Telco sales at Google, Commercial Director at VTR, and Commercial Manager at HELP S.A.

Sebastian's specialties include 5G, Cloud, Digital transformation, Edge computing, Open RAN, AI, ML, and Analytics.

He co-founded MOCOW and continues to be actively involved in driving technological advancements and sustainability initiatives.
