Sean Robinson

Sean Robinson is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of experience in Higher Education. He holds advanced degrees including an M.Ed. in Counseling from the College of William & Mary, an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the same institution.

Currently, Sean serves as the Program Director for the MA and PhD programs and is a Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. His teaching interests span various areas such as higher education administration, student affairs, organizational theory, behavior, development & change management, leadership development, and qualitative research methodology.

His primary research focus revolves around sexual orientation identity development among youth and young adults, particularly exploring LGBTQ representation in popular culture and mass media. Sean's research extends to the experiences of LGBTQ faculty and administrators, studying the impact of policies & practices, culture, and norms on their professional and personal identities.

Additionally, he is involved in research related to graduate education, with a specific emphasis on mentoring, especially for under-represented groups. Alongside his academic endeavors, Sean operates a Consulting & Coaching practice specializing in leadership and organizational development, strategic planning, and human resource initiatives for educational institutions, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.

Sean Robinson's background as a former LPC and mental health therapist complements his Consulting & Coaching practice. He is also a certified Health and Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer, assisting individuals in pursuing their fitness, health, and general wellness goals. Moreover, he provides LGBTQ competency training for health care and allied professionals.

Sean has been associated with prestigious institutions like Morgan State University, Argosy University, Georgetown University, and University of Virginia in various capacities, such as Program Director, Associate Professor, Assistant Dean, Counselor, and Student Activities Advisor. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of Higher Education, combining his academic background with practical experience in counseling, coaching, and mentoring.
